Illuminate Your Practice - Scott Johnson, 'The Chai Sessions'
Scott Johnson is co-founder and senior teacher at Stillpoint Yoga in London. He first came to MCY back in 2018 where he bravely ate the very first vegan cake I ever made! He’ll be joining us again April 2022.

Community, connection, keeping it real in 2022
As this year draws to a close I’ve been thinking about the year just passed and what it has meant for Merchant City Yoga.
When I took up the reins of MCY in 2012 I was determined to make the studio, the yoga, the community as integrated, practical and real as possible. So when we were forced to close the studio by the Covid-19 crisis in 2020 my strategy was the same - keep everyone connected, share yoga by whatever practical means we could and above all, keep it real for everyone.
Into The Upside-Down - Matt Evans, 'The Chai Sessions'
Matt is one of our recent MCY teacher-training graduates and handstand enthusiast! Hand-standing is a puzzle that takes us beyond where we think we can go. We chat all about it here in this Chai Session.

Injuries, the practice, teaching from experience - Ana Costa, 'The Chai Sessions'
These past few months every time Ana and I get together we end up talking about injuries! In particular, we've been comparing notes on our own shoulder injuries and chatting about how injury has not only changed our practice but also the impact it's had on how we teach yoga postures.
I thought it'd be fun to get together over a cuppa and share some of our chat with you all.
On Coming Back
Returning to the practice, meeting limitations, and the magic of ‘beginners’ mind’
Things are opening up again, and we’re coming back. It’s certainly not quite “back to normal” but even so I often feel like there’s a pressure to be jubilant about returning to many of our old habits and activities, which we don’t always necessarily feel. It’s complicated!
Yoga stories, where it all began, training the new generation - June Mitchell, 'The Chai Sessions'
In this session I'm chatting with June Mitchell. I know for sure that I wouldn't be where I am today without June. She has been practising and teaching yoga since the 1970s and has some amazing stories to share.
