Getting started, being yourself: the fears & worries we all share - Nicola Park, ‘The Chai Sessions’

In this session I'm chatting with Nicola, who has been teaching our Monday evening beginners class here at the studio for many years. Yoga for Beginners is actually the only class on our timetable that's never changed and is still in its original spot!

Nicola does an amazing job at making sure everyone feels comfortable and relaxed before, during and after class. She really understands what it's like to be a beginner and even shares her own funny story about an experience she had in our chat.

There's so much out there about what yoga should look like - perfect, strong, healthy bodies effortlessly bending and balancing in all manner of positions. But the reality is quite different and that's just not the way it is for most of us.

Nicola explains that you really don't have to be anything or do anything before you come to a yoga class.

And who said yoga for beginners was only for beginners?

Pop the kettle on, get yourself comfy and come and join us...

I hope you enjoy our chat. You’ll find Nicola teaching Yoga for Beginners online every Monday 7.30pm. Head over to our timetable to take a look at her class times and book your place.

If you have any questions email me or find us on social media.

‘The Chai Sessions’

Anyone who has been to Merchant City Yoga on a Sunday knows how much I love catching up with everyone over a cup of my freshly brewed spiced chai. These Sunday chai sessions really bring everyone together, a true celebration of friendship, community and connection.

As these covid restrictions continue I want to try and capture some of that magic and share it with you at home. So I've invited some familiar faces from our MCY family to chat with me online over a cuppa. I'm affectionately calling them 'The Chai Sessions'.
