Freedom & Balance Through Yoga - Dan Gronan, ‘The Chai Sessions’

I'm delighted to welcome and introduce you to Dan Gronan in this, my 21st Chai Session!

Dan is offering a brand new weekly class here at MCY on Tuesdays 6-7.15pm. I thought it would be lovely to sit down for a chat and a cuppa to get to know him a little better.

Dan begins by sharing what got him started with yoga. Referencing one of my favourite movies, The Karate Kid, as he shares his journey up till now. He talks about freedom through discipline and choice, choosing your limitations to achieve more.

We get into the benefits of yoga. How these tools and practices have helped Dan navigate life and be of service in the world.

A few nuggets from our chat...

Yoga raises me up and inspires me to be a better human.

You can't find balance without going out of balance.

What feels like centre for you? Like home for you?

I love my modified Ashtanga practice. It's about the less, not the more.

Listen in below or look for 'The Chai Sessions' on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or Amazon Music. You can also watch our chat on Youtube.

Pop the kettle on, get yourself comfy and come and join us...

Dan is here at the studio every Tuesday 6-7.15pm sharing his new class, Movement & Yoga Nidra.

Class begins with yoga nidra to bring you deeply into your body. When you think about it, it makes perfect sense to begin this way. It's all about subtlety and sensitivity, slow movement, repetitive movement, deep listening and deep feeling.

We’d love to know what you think too. Please feel free to leave a comment or question below.

‘The Chai Sessions’

Anyone who has been to Merchant City Yoga on a Sunday knows how much I love catching up with everyone over a cup of my freshly brewed spiced chai. These Sunday chai sessions really bring everyone together, a true celebration of friendship, community and connection.

I want to try and capture some of that magic and share it with you at home. So I've invited some familiar and new faces from our MCY family to chat with me over a cuppa. I'm affectionately calling them 'The Chai Sessions'.
