Feel Deeper & Sense Wider - Scott Johnson, 'The Chai Sessions'

If you haven't had the pleasure, Scott Johnson is the founder of Stillpoint Yoga in London, host of Stillpoint Podcast, and good friend and regular visitor to MCY.

Scott will be joining us here in Glasgow in just a few weeks to share 4 days of Ashtanga Mysore Assisted Self Practice, 2 Weekend Workshops and a very special Yoga Assists Workshop. We can't wait to welcome him back to MCY again and hope you can join us!

We begin our chat by asking, "Why do we practice yoga postures (yoga asana)?" We discuss the possibilities that yoga postures offer us. Not just physically but the possibilities yoga postures and the practice offer as a whole when we come back to them again, again and again.

Scott says for him the practice is about listening, uncovering and being aware of the coversations we're having with our body. "What communication is happening, what conversations can be had..."

We also chat about what it means for Ashtanga Yoga to be accessible. "It's a practice that changes you because you do it consistently over a long period of time, you place yourself at the front of your mat and listen... The posture is formed in relationship to you and your unique body and your unique experience."

Pop the kettle on, get yourself comfy and come and join us.

I hope you enjoy our chat.

Scott will be here at MCY from Thursday 16th February till Sunday 19th February. We’d love to have you join us!

You can book individual sessions and workshops or come along to the whole 4 day immersion. We’re offering special savings for those coming along to full or semi immersions this time too. Find all the details and BOOK HERE

If you have any questions email me or find us on social media.

‘The Chai Sessions’

Anyone who has been to Merchant City Yoga on a Sunday knows how much I love catching up with everyone over a cup of my freshly brewed spiced chai. These Sunday chai sessions really bring everyone together, a true celebration of friendship, community and connection.

I want to try and capture some of that magic and share it with you at home. So I've invited some familiar and new faces from our MCY family to chat with me over a cuppa. I'm affectionately calling them 'The Chai Sessions'.
