Getting started, being yourself: the fears & worries we all share - Nicola Park, ‘The Chai Sessions’
In this session I'm chatting with Nicola, who has been teaching our Monday evening beginners class here at the studio for many years.
Nicola does an amazing job at making sure everyone feels comfortable and relaxed before, during and after class. She really understands what it's like to be a beginner and even shares her own funny story about an experience she had in our chat.
Pop the kettle on, get yourself comfy and come and join us...
Has Hatha Yoga fallen out of fashion? - Patricia Galavis, ‘The Chai Sessions’
Anyone who has been to Merchant City Yoga on a Sunday knows how much I love catching up with everyone over a cup of my freshly brewed spiced chai. These Sunday chai sessions really bring everyone together, a true celebration of friendship, community and connection.
As these covid restrictions continue I want to try and capture some of that magic and share it with you at home. So I've invited some familiar faces from our MCY family to chat with me online over a cuppa. I'm affectionately calling them 'The Chai Sessions'.
2020, a year to remember
It’s been a difficult year.
I’ve heard said a few times now that 2020 is a year to forget. But I think that’s completely wrong. I think 2020 should be a year that we remember. And remember for a long time to come.

COVID-19: A message from Judi…
As you know we’re pretty down to earth here at MCY. There’s a lot of information and conjecture just now about the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and we don’t want to panic. BUT I feel that if the situation is as serious as it seems to be just now then the additional hygiene measures we’ve been advised to implement aren’t enough.
Yoga Outreach – Sharing, Relationships & Community
Every year I host Edinburgh Community Yoga and their brilliant weekend of yoga outreach training. As a Glasgow yoga studio I’m adamant that we have to take our place within our local community. We have to contribute what we can to support the community, foster relationships and nurture it to grow.
Stress & slowing down by Ana Costa
In the strive to be successful, we easily lose ourselves. Recent surveys show scarily high levels of stress being reported across the UK, with only 7% of young adults reporting that they never feel overwhelmed or unable to cope. For the sake of being successful at work, in our family lives, and in our social lives we are compromising our own physical and mental health.
