Transitioning forward, self care & boundaries - Katie Boyle, 'The Chai Sessions'

In this session I'm chatting with Katie who teaches our Forrest-inspired yoga class on a Saturday morning here at the studio.

With restrictions now changing in Glasgow, we're again in a period of transition. Many of us are looking to reconnect with people, places and activities we've maybe lost touch with over the past year.

While there's relief and anticipation that things are starting to open up, there is a hesitancy about it. Will we remember what to do, say, how to act when we go out into the world and meet in-person again?

Katie and I chat about how we transition forward using the tools of yoga and self care to support us. Practice, whether 5 minutes or 55 minutes, can help us gather our energy and our thoughts. Help us ground ourselves and find steadiness amongst the change.

And self care isn't all bubble baths and glasses of wine, nice though they are. It's a practice just like yoga. Katie really walks her talk in the real world and shares some wonderful insights into self care and boundaries in our chat.

How can we invest in ourselves and use these practices to feel our own strength, connect with our centre, our self…

Pop the kettle on, get yourself comfy and come and join us.

I hope you enjoy our chat. You’ll find Katie teaching Forrest-inspired yoga online every Saturday 9.30am. Head over to our timetable to take a look at her class times and book your place.

If you have any questions email me or find us on social media.

‘The Chai Sessions’

Anyone who has been to Merchant City Yoga on a Sunday knows how much I love catching up with everyone over a cup of my freshly brewed spiced chai. These Sunday chai sessions really bring everyone together, a true celebration of friendship, community and connection.

I want to try and capture some of that magic and share it with you at home. So I've invited some familiar faces from our MCY family to chat with me online over a cuppa. I'm affectionately calling them 'The Chai Sessions'.
