The Yoga Manifesto - Nadia Gilani, 'The Chai Sessions'

Nadia Gilani is an author, yoga teacher and former news journalist. Her book, The Yoga Manifesto, is what brought us together to chat. Plus she’ll be coming to visit us here at Merchant City Yoga next month!

For me, Nadia's book is a call to action. An open honest look at modern yoga, how we engage with it and integrate it into our lives. Nadia says, "without action the yoga isn't working... we have to engage in the world."

"How can I use the practice?"

"What can I do right now with what is in front of me?"

"In a world of inevitable suffering, what can I do to find peace?"

"What am I doing to promote peace in the world?"

Another thing I really appreciated about Nadia's book is that she talks about how yoga hasn't always been the answer. Yoga has helped her through some tough times in her life but she also says that sometimes it didn't. Sometimes it just didn't work and she talks about why.

I can't wait to welcome Nadia to MCY on Saturday 20th May for an afternoon of practise, tea and conversation. We'd love you to join us too! You can book your place HERE

For now... pop the kettle on, get yourself comfy and tune in to listen or watch our chat.

I hope you enjoy our chat.

‘The Chai Sessions’

Anyone who has been to Merchant City Yoga on a Sunday knows how much I love catching up with everyone over a cup of my freshly brewed spiced chai. These Sunday chai sessions really bring everyone together, a true celebration of friendship, community and connection.

I want to try and capture some of that magic and share it with you at home. So I've invited some familiar and new faces from our MCY family to chat with me over a cuppa. I'm affectionately calling them 'The Chai Sessions'.
