Practising & Teaching Ashtanga Yoga - Lucy Crawford, ‘The Chai Sessions’

Lucy Crawford is a very well known and respected international Ashtanga yoga teacher. I'm thrilled I got the opportunity to chat with her and so excited she'll be here at Merchant City Yoga this weekend!

Coming from a massage and holistic body therapy background, Lucy discovered yoga in the early nineties. We begin by chatting about what brought Lucy to yoga in the beginning. Also what it was about the Ashtanga practice that attracted her and kept her coming back.

This chat is full of inspirational nuggets I know you'll love. We even get into chatting about teaching the practice, the role of the yoga teacher is to empower, and what it is to be Ashtanga practitioners as women.

With so much speculation around this strong practice and how appropriate it is as we age, especially for women, how do we approach practice? Being present in time, to be with ease, practice with a sense of your wholeness...

I hope you enjoy listening in and if you're joining us at the studio this weekend Lucy says bring yourself as you are. We can't wait to welcome you and share in the vast wealth of experience and knowledge Lucy has to offer.

Listen below or look for 'The Chai Sessions' on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or Amazon Music. You can also watch our chat on Youtube.

‘The Chai Sessions’

Anyone who has been to Merchant City Yoga on a Sunday knows how much I love catching up with everyone over a cup of my freshly brewed spiced chai. These Sunday chai sessions really bring everyone together, a true celebration of friendship, community and connection.

I want to try and capture some of that magic and share it with you at home. So I've invited some familiar and new faces from our MCY family to chat with me over a cuppa. I'm affectionately calling them 'The Chai Sessions'.
