Yoga Philosophy Club with Ema Čulík

  • Merchant City Yoga 2nd Floor, 49 Virginia Street Glasgow, Scotland, G1 1TS United Kingdom (map)

How does yoga philosophy unfold in our practice? And more importantly, how does it unfold in our lives?

Philosophy Club is a rich, modern, informal space to explore yoga philosophy in a way that is practical, heart driven and community led.

So often the only way to learn about yoga philosophy is in dry academic books, expensive courses or as part of a full yoga teacher training. In philosophy club we approach the yoga teachings as a pragmatic, human and grounded system of practice that helps us to live better here and now.

The sessions take the form of group discussion on the topic of the day. No prior reading is required as handouts will be provided and we'll explore the material together by questioning, unpacking, discussing and sharing - what we feel, what we wonder, what makes sense and what doesn’t.

Philosophy Club is ideal if you have studied yoga philosophy on your 200hr training and are keen to dive deeper, but equally suited to those with no past experience who are just curious about this rich tradition.

There will be continuity across our meetings but each session will also stand on its own. By coming together with the texts as our touchstone, we seek how to make sense of this beautiful, bamboozling, amazing thing we call a human life.
