Fascia is becoming very popular within the yoga world. Even though Hatha Yoga has been working with fascia over millennia, the truth is that there’s still a lot about fascia that’s unknown. Patricia says
“The way I understand fascia is connective tissue throughout the body: it is everywhere within the body connecting skin – muscle – nerve- bones… and it is also all around the organs. The fascia is the net that pulls us together.”
Drawing on her own practice Patricia will introduce you to fascia lengthening and help you incorporate it into your hatha yoga practice.
“The journey of fascia lengthening”, she says “has taken me on a different level in my yoga practice. It has helped me to discover my own body from a different perspective, giving me more flexibility and freedom of movement from the very beginning. It has helped me to release stress, to sleep better and it has increased my physical and mental performance. It has also liberated me of pains and tensions I had been carrying around for years in my body from different injuries in just few sessions!”
The way she has learned to do that, and shares regularly in her classes, is completely different from the passive stretching you might have come to expect in a Hatha class. It’s actually the opposite! Fascia lengthening is active, done with movement using resistance. In the practices Patricia shares you’ll learn to shorten the area you want to lengthen, add resistance so that the targeted area engages and move in the opposite direction. And voila… the miracle starts to happen!
In this workshop Patricia will share with you the way she applies the fascia practices to each part of the body within a hatha yoga setting. You’ll alternate fascia lengthening and classical hatha yoga asana to deepen your understanding of their interconnectedness.
Workshop Cost £30
