Handstands are really fun. But learning to handstand as an adult is notoriously tricky. It’s a huge brain-body puzzle, and solving it requires commitment, patience and consistent practice – and a bit of expert guidance and feedback is incredibly helpful, too.
As a handstand enthusiast, I wanted to create a regular space where wannabe upside-down people can come together to build the skills, strength and confidence they need. So welcome to Merchant City Yoga’s Handstand Club!
In these monthly sessions, we will work as a group on various preps and drills aimed at helping you safely achieve a freestanding handstand. You will then be given an opportunity to work on your personal handstand practice, and receive personalised feedback on your progress and advice on how to move forward. Together, we will encourage and support each other on our explorations of the inverted world.
MCY Handstand Club is an informal, friendly space for all those embarking on or in the midst of their handstand journey. Beginners and improvers very much welcome.

I’ve been practising yoga since the mid-2010s, graduated from MCY’s teacher-training programme in 2021, and currently teach online and in-person vinyasa flow classes.
