Into The Upside-Down: A beginner’s guide to forearm stand with Matt Evans

  • Merchant City Yoga 2nd Floor, 49 Virginia Street Glasgow, Scotland, G1 1TS United Kingdom (map)

Forearm stand (Pincha Mayurasana or Feathered Peacock Pose), is an inverted arm balance that occurs in the Ashtanga Intermediate Series. Superficially, it combines aspects of both headstand and handstand, yet has its own unique challenges. This workshop will introduce you to the principles of Pincha and guide you through drills designed to develop the strength, flexibility and body awareness needed for this demanding pose.

This workshop is suitable both for those completely new to Pincha and for students looking to strengthen and refine their current practice.

Workshop Cost £35

About Matt (in his own words)

I first became entranced by yoga at a music festival in the wilds of Scotland in the mid-2010s, and I have been exploring its myriad facets ever since. My curiosity and adventures somehow led me to teacher training, and after an extremely challenging, fascinating and fulfilling year, I became a MCY 200-hour graduate in 2021.
