How to prepare for Lotus with Firelog or Double Pigeon

If you’re struggling with half lotus or full lotus or you’ve got a little bit of pain in the knees, firelog or double pigeon is a great prep to be working with most days. It’ll help you work into those muscles that help with external rotation at the hip.

Even if you’re getting into lotus, this exercise can help you find an ease there and a comfort that’s maybe missing.

Also if you’re looking for an option for Padmasana that you can practice in the flow of a led class, scroll to the bottom and check out the video there.

Options for Padmasana (full lotus posture) when you’re in the flow

A student has emailed me asking what she can do in class when we get to padmasana (full lotus posture). She wondered if there are some options she can use in a fast paced led class that are still useful and would allow her to stay with the count.
