Looking Towards Reopening

Join us from 22 June (we hope!)

Once again we’re considering how we re-emerge from this past year to gather again in class.

But we’re taking things slow.

For many it will feel awkward physically being with other people beyond family. Others are struggling to adjust to being back at work, or find themselves out of work. Many people are struggling to find energy and motivation.

And for some, they simply can’t wait to be together again in class!

We’ve all got lots to think about as restrictions begin to ease and we begin yet another transition…

What do we keep?
What do we leave behind?
What do we bring with us?
What do we rush back to?
What do we invent?
What do we fight for?
What do we dream anew?

(Thank you @priyaparker for these spot-on questions!)

Our provisional plan

We’ll gradually reintroduce in person classes from Tuesday 22 June. We can only run one class at a time in the studio for now so some classes will remain online.

Classes will be listed on the timetable as an IN STUDIO class or a VIRTUAL (online) class. Please check carefully when you are booking.

We’re planning to offer some classes as HYBRID classes. These classes will have both students who join in person and those who join online. It means you can choose to join these classes online or in the studio. These classes will be listed twice on the timetable - once as IN STUDIO and once as VIRTUAL.

As soon as we confirm which classes will be offered in person, and when, I’ll add them to the timetable for booking. I’ll also be keeping you posted over the coming weeks so keep an eye on your inbox and on our socials.

For the moment, you'll find a link to our covid procedures, some details about what to expect when joining classes in the studio and information about pricing & passes below.

If you have any questions please get in touch.

We need your support, we can’t do this without you. We’re all SO looking forward to seeing you in person again over the summer…

BEFORE JOINING A CLASS IN THE STUDIO

We’re asking everyone who’s coming into the studio to download the Protect Scotland track and trace app.

You’ll have to book and pay for your class in advance, we’re no longer able to have you drop in to class. You can do this directly from the Timetable or using the MINDBODY app - download the app, search for Merchant City Yoga and set us as one of your favourites.

In line with current guidelines mats will be distanced meaning capacity is very limited. When an IN STUDIO class is fully booked you’ll be able to join the waiting list and will be notified if a place becomes available. If you’ve booked an IN STUDIO place and find you can’t make it to class please cancel as soon as possible to allow someone else to take your place. If you book a virtual place as a back up but then get an in studio space, you’ll need to remember to cancel it!

You’ll also have to bring your own mat, blanket & any blocks you use during class.

Come dressed for class as best you can - you can hang your jacket up and take off your shoes but there’s no changing or shower facilities.

Wear more layers than you did before - to make sure we have adequate ventilation the windows will be open for the whole class!

Sorry, but we can’t admit late comers so please make sure you arrive early to accommodate the extra time needed to get you safely to your space.

COVID PROCEDURES

You’ll find all the details here about what to expect when joining us for a class in the studio. We’re constantly reviewing what we do and update the details on this link regularly.

PRICING & PASSES

To make things simple pricing for classes whether they’re online or in the studio will be the same. That means you can use your pass to join classes in the studio and online, you don’t need a different pass for each.

If you’re experiencing financial hardship and find yourself unable to pay use the code COMMUNITY100 to get 100% off the price of a drop in, and all of our downloadable resources and on-demand content remains free and accessible at any time.
