VIRTUAL | Hatha Fest: Digestive System & Meditation with Patricia Galavis

  • Merchant City Yoga 2nd Floor, 49 Virginia Street Glasgow, Scotland, G1 1TS United Kingdom (map)

Over the holidays you might be tempted to overindulge a little…

But don’t worry, help is at hand!

Yoga offers us ways to prepare the physical body for improved digestion AND improves mind-body awareness to help us make better decisions around eating and drinking.

There’s loads more that influences our digestive system than just what we eat. In the yoga tradition it’s believed there are eight factors that influence digestion:

  1. Rashi -> Quantity of food

  2. Prakriti -> Our constitution (tamas, rajas, satva)

  3. Desha -> The place where you are eating

  4. Deha -> Age

  5. Karanta -> The way of processing the food

  6. Samyoga -> The combination of food

  7. Upayoga -> The way you eat the food

  8. Upabhokta -> The person who eats needs to be in a good mental state (as well as the person who cooks the food!)

During this special session you’ll explore different asanas (postures) which are designed to improve your digestive system, and explore some meditation and mindfulness techniques too. The practice of asana and meditation has a tremendous impact on our mental state which in turn can have an incredibly positive effect on our digestion.

Join us to discover how all of these techniques can help you during the festive season!
