Self-care Workshop with Marta Czyz-Cameron

  • Merchant City Yoga 2nd Floor, 49 Virginia Street Glasgow, Scotland, G1 1TS United Kingdom (map)

Marta’s Self-care & Deep Rest Workshop is dedicated to nurturing your physical, mental and emotional well-being. In the hustle and bustle of our busy lives, we often forget to prioritise ourselves!

This workshop is designed to give you practical tools and strategies to cultivate self-compassion, reduce stress and find balance in an increasingly demanding world. Marta will guide you through dry brushing techniques and self-massage techniques (elements of Ayurvedic Abhyanga and traditional Thai massage) so you’ll be able to incorporate them into your day to day life.

Dry brushing (garshana) is a traditional Ayurvedic practice which is performed on dry skin with a bristle brush. Regular dry brushing improves circulation and stimulating lymphatic system.

Marta will then guide you through a deeply relaxing and tension relieving massage techniques which you can use at home alongside your lifestyle and routine.

Performing self-massage is a great way of tuning into your body and all its layers. Most of us don’t have the time or the money to indulge in a regular daily or weekly massage routine but we can make the most of massage treatments by taking care of ourselves in between professional massages.

The workshop will finish with Yoga Nidra deep rest practice, giving you this time to slow down and reconnect with yourself.

Join us to learn about the power of ritual and learn how to make self-care a priority in your everyday life.

Workshop Cost £35 (with a gift bag which includes a body brush and handmade body scrub or balm made by Marta herself!)

About Marta

When Marta began her yoga practice in 2007 she was at first interested in the physical aspect of yoga, but soon became aware of its therapeutic properties, where mind and body find harmony through mindfulness in movement. She completed our 200 hour CYS Yoga Teacher Training programme here at Merchant City Yoga in 2017.

Later that same year she went on to train as a Thai Yoga Massage Therapist with Lucy Trend at the Shiatsu and Thai Massage Training Scotland. Marta found that the knowledge and skills gained during the training with Lucy complemented and enhanced her yoga teaching greatly.

With time she noticed a shift in not only her physical practice but also her day-to-day life off the mat. She was inspired to share this with others and created Yoga Untangled - Yoga and Massage Therapies in 2017.

She has further continued her professional development and is now qualified to teach yin yoga, yoga and mindfulness to kids, teenagers and young adults, and has also followed through with her long-time interest in Ayurveda and now has a diploma qualification in Ayurveda Massage.

Marta is now studying towards completing Advance Teacher Training. Her practice, her teaching and her work as a therapist have now become an inspirational and irreplaceable part of her life.
