Mindfulness can be thought of as a technique which can help you reduce stress, anxiety and frustration or simply get more enjoyment from life. You make a special effort to bring your attention to the present moment and become aware of what's happening in your body, your mind and your surroundings without judgement.
According to MIND, the mental health charity, mindfulness can help you to:
Increase your awareness of your thoughts and feelings;
Manage unhelpful thoughts;
Develop more helpful responses to difficult feelings and events;
Be kinder towards yourself;
Feel calmer and able to manage stress better;
Manage some physical health problems, like chronic pain.
Our structured six week course is rooted in the traditions of zen and will help you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings and react differently to them. It’s perfect for you if you’re a complete beginner or if you’ve had some experience with mindfulness & meditation and would like to explore it further.
What can you expect?
A variety of practical mindfulness & meditation tools;
Support and encouragement to use them in your daily life to improve your health and wellbeing;
Explore a new challenge every week including stress, time pressure & taking care of yourself.
PLUS…
Everyone gets a recording of each guided meditation with the aim that you try to meditate daily and can contact Patricia any time with questions or uncertainties as you go.
Mindfulness is something we all have naturally, but it’s more readily available to us when we practice on a daily basis. Our course will give you the techniques and support you need to develop your own mindfulness practice.
Mindfulness isn’t the answer to everything (despite what it looks like in the media sometimes!) but it can really help you with an awful lot of things. BOOK NOW to take your first step towards feeling calmer and get more enjoyment from life.
We recommend that you attend all classes in the course.
