Arm balancing is a fun and empowering part of the physical yoga practice, but it can seem daunting at first because it’s a whole new way of holding your body in space.
Ema says “I love arm balancing for its playfulness. But more than that I love what it teaches us about how the parts of the body work together, how we can skilfully use integration, work with gravity and apply our yogic superpowers of breath and focus to make fun and unusual shapes.”
Back for a third year, Ema’s special summer arm balance workshop will take you back to basics - discover how to build a light and strong arm balance from the ground up. Perfect if you’re new to arm balances and also if you are looking for more ease or ready to try different transitions.
This workshop will take a deep dive into the techniques, tips and secrets to taking flight. You’ll explore bandha, core engagement, drishti, wrist strength and building confidence to get you up into the air!
Workshop Cost £33

About Ema
Ema came to yoga seeking emotional balance and found the route to that through the body. Although Ema is inspired most of all by the spiritual and philosophical aspects of yoga, her practice and classes are concrete and physical, informed by a solid grounding in anatomy. She says:
“We explore our physical form - the ‘field of action’ where our lives play out - to create harmony and health, and through the shapes we make, find freedom and new ways of inhabiting the world.”
