Chatting Ashtanga Yoga With Rose Ann McKean, ‘The Chai Sessions’

In this session I'm chatting with Rose Ann who teaches our morning Mysore programme here at the studio. She also teaches with me on our 200 hour yoga teacher training programme!

We chat Ashtanga - where to start, commitment to the practice, the struggle, challenging postures, the difference between guided classes and Mysore-style, managing your energy and taking ownership of your practice.

Neither Rose Ann or myself just stepped onto a yoga mat one day able to do everything we can do today. It took time and effort.

The magic of Ashtanga is that it can meet each of us wherever we are. You just start with one sun salutation, see what happens and take it from there.

Pop the kettle on, get yourself comfy and come and join us...

I hope you enjoy our chat. You’ll find Rose Ann teaching morning Mysore online every Tuesday and Wednesday 6-8am. Come along and do what you can. Rose Ann will be there to help and keep you right.

Remember you don't have to start at 6am sharp, you can begin your practice at any time. Head over to our timetable to take a look and book your place.

If you have any questions email me or find us on social media.

‘The Chai Sessions’

Anyone who has been to Merchant City Yoga on a Sunday knows how much I love catching up with everyone over a cup of my freshly brewed spiced chai. These Sunday chai sessions really bring everyone together, a true celebration of friendship, community and connection.

As these covid restrictions continue I want to try and capture some of that magic and share it with you at home. So I've invited some familiar faces from our MCY family to chat with me online over a cuppa. I'm affectionately calling them 'The Chai Sessions'.
