Yoga Nidra: An invitation to simply be - Lucie Potter, ‘The Chai Sessions’

Lucie and I are both very passionate about the benefits of yoga nidra. She regularly comes to MCY to share her beautiful seasonal practices with everyone.

If you haven’t heard yet, her late summer session on Friday 29th September (7-8.30pm) is now open for booking!

I think deep conscious relaxation is hugely underrated. I wonder if it might even be getting a bit lost in the modern yoga scene. That’s why I'm so excited to have the opportunity to geek out on the topic with Lucie.

We begin by chatting about Lucie's first experiences with yoga nidra. She says, after the birth of her first baby it helped her regain the rest she needed in a relatively short period of time. Nidra provided a safe space, a reliable structured practice she could come back to again and again.

We chat about yoga nidra as a sleep practice. How we harness the familiar practice of falling asleep so there’s no sense of anything to do. We get into the benefits of nidra and a seasonal approach to the practice, the why, how nidra relates to the koshas and our energetic body, sankalpa (intention setting) and much more.

Lucie even explains her approach to yoga nidra, what you can expect in one of her sessions and the different lineages and traditions that have inspired her.

I hope you enjoy listening in.

Listen below or look for 'The Chai Sessions' on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or Amazon Music. You can also watch our chat on Youtube.
