Intermediate Vinyasa Flow with Nicole McMahon

When I first met Nicole our yoga teacher training course was full. It’s always a mixed blessing when I’m able to offer someone a place from the waiting list but sometimes we find we’re where we need to be when we need to be there. And that’s what happened with Nicole.Nicole says…

"I found MCY in 2014 when I had just graduated from university, flying into the world with an Honours degree and still so many unanswered questions in life. I ended up living away in other cities & travelling the world before I finally met Judi at MCY in 2018. I luckily found myself in one of the last spots for the CYS Glasgow Yoga Teacher Training Course.

Balance is everything! When she’s not on her yoga mat, Nicole loves being outdoors.

When I’m not out parading up a hill or running some countryside path I find the perfect compliment for both my body and mind in Yoga. Since graduating, I’ve been teaching Ashtanga for beginners and anatomically focused Vinyasa Flow classes igniting the ability to create freedom in the body through practice.

What are we really searching for? Why do we turn up again and again? Yoga doesn’t necessarily give us the answers but is a tool to whatever we need right now in our lives, even if we don’t know it.

I naturally have an energetic and empathetic soul which has its benefits but also impacts on my mental health. I’m definitely the cheesy smiley one who suggests that ‘there will always be sunshine behind the clouds’. Yoga gives me the space to find the steadiness, balance and ease in practice but also mirrors into my working life as an employment law consultant. Yoga is Universal and I love the energy and community which it creates with many people across the world.

Nicole helped raise an amazing £500 for SAMH with her charity flow class!

My first ambition as a yoga teacher was to hold a charity event for SAMH. This was a huge success thanks to the lovely folks in Glasgow city who helped raise over £500. I believe that Yoga is for every body. Its adaptations and variations can meet you wherever you are right now. I’ve been overjoyed and energised by opportunities to share this practice. I've worked with Finding Your Feet Amputee Charity in Glasgow and have recently finished ‘zooming’ my way, like many others, through the past 5 months of teaching online classes during our 2020 ‘lockdown’ life. This has been a JOY.

Hopefully you find the time to enjoy the class here online. And maybe we'll be lucky duckies and meet in class one day and experience our own Yoga MAGIC together."

Nicole shines her light and spreads joy wherever she goes and MCY would not be the same place without her.
